About me

GIRISH MENON

I have taught photography to more than 6,000 individuals between the age of 8 and 85 since 2007.

Most of my students are using a DSLR, mirrorless, or bridge camera for the first time when they come to me. I have a patient approach to teaching photography and understanding the difficulties of someone new to photography.

All my workshops are task-oriented—I believe in learning by doing. You will see immediate results.

I have a keen interest in understanding the workings and features of all brands of DSLR, micro 4/3, mirrorless, bridge, film, and point and shoot cameras.

I facilitate every course and workshop myself.

Dr. Jennifer Alexander, Head (2012), Department of Mass Communication and Extension
SVT College of Home Science, SNDT Women's University, Mumbai

Girish Menon has been associated with the Department of Mass Communication and Extension, since June 2012. Girish taught the subject 'Lighting and Digital Photography', a requisite of the degree course offered to the second year students specialising in 'Audio Visual Production', one of the two specialisations at the department. It was a pleasure to have Girish as a visiting faculty. His contribution to teaching the above-mentioned subject and his dedication to improving the standards of the curriculum was outstanding and overwhelming. But above all, Girish Menon's warm and helpful nature, his willingness to address any problems of the department pertaining to Photography at any time of the day, was an asset extraordinary.

Inir Pinheiro, Managing Director of Grassroutes Journeys Pvt. Ltd.

Girish has partnered with Grassroutes Journeys towards conducting Photography workshops in the villages that we work in. Girish has been conducting 1 & 2-day workshops with several of our clients both corporate and retails. Over the past 2 years, Girish has been brilliant in his facilitation of the workshops. Our clients have given excellent feedback on his ability to demystify the art of capturing light. Girish has been able to conduct these workshops with a perfect blend of professionalism, simplicity and sensitivity towards the participants.

Tarun Kataria, venture capitalist and "African safari addict" as quoted in Conde Nast Travel India

My one-on-one lesson with Girish provided a massive uplift to my photography skills both in terms on getting the most out of my camera and indeed composing more interesting images. The difference in the end result is striking

Hariharan Iyer attended the Master Your DSLR Camera F.A.S.T. workshop.
